My Skincare Routine Update.

Over the past year or so I have become more and more fascinated with having a good skincare routine. I am on the verge of obsessed with YouTube, and the constant update of seeing others routines has made me want to change/start mine. I have never been one for skincare, I can be very lazy when it comes to my skin, and I feared this would come back to bite me. I think the reason for my previous laziness is the fact that I have very good skin. I would say I fall in the category of normal to dry skin type, I suffer with quite mild eczema, though it's rarely on my face (except that annoying patch on the end of my nose that just won't budge!). So I have never really suffered from spots, don't get me wrong, a few pop up here and there every now and again but I'm talking once in a blue moon.

But nevertheless I though it was time to kick myself into a good routine that I like and will enjoy carrying out. I love my exfoliator I started using a few years ago, Lush's 'Let the good times roll', so I already had the exfoliator covered. In terms of makeup removal I was always the girl with the endless amounts of makeup wipes that had become used to the fact that there would always still be a little mascara left after repeatedly rubbing my eyes for 10 minutes. Over the past couple of weeks I have added Garnier's Micellar Oil-infused Cleansing Water to my routine so I will let you know in another post how I have been getting on with that, I want to use it for a bit longer and see how I feel about it, make an informed decision y'know?

But onto the real deal, the reason we are all here. Liz Earle. I love these products. I saw Gabriella of Velvet Ghost rave about the Liz Earle range and I thought I'd give it a whirl. In all honesty these products are beautiful, the smell is clean and just divine, they leave your skin feeling fresh and revived like you never knew they could ever feel.

Each night I take my eye makeup off with the Garnier Micellar water and then use the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, slowly rubbing in circular motions all over my face and neck, then using either the wash cloth provided or the Muslin cloths I bought from mothercare, I put the cloth in hot water, rinse, and wipe the cleanser off my face, using the cloth in hot water is really soothing to the skin and feels lovely. I then take the Instant Boost Skin Tonic onto a cotton wool pad and rub all over my face. And the last step is moisturiser. I take a small amount of the Skin Repair moisturiser and apply this to my whole face. I love this moisturiser as it's un-perfumed so doesn't sting or irritate my skin in anyway and i can happily apply it on my under eyes as well as all over the lid.

And that's all for my skincare routine. 4 simple steps each day, with exfoliator every few days.

Enjoy looking after your skin!

My Skincare Routine

My skincare routine!! Ooooo exciting! Or not really, it's pretty late and I think I am past that stage of being over tired haha!

So I don't have a massive skincare routine like a lot of people. And it's pretty simple!

Step 1: At night I remove all my make-up using Benefit's Remove it make-up remover, £16.50. This if fairly pricey in comparison to make-up wipes you can get for around £3. But I have found wipes very drying, and this has really kept my skin hydrated. Also it removes my make-up a lot better, as I use cotton pads and you can see less and less make-up on each pad you use.

Step 2: I then move to my bathroom, rinsing my face with pretty warm water, ripping off a chunk of my Movis face soap from Lush, and rubbing this all over my face to cleanse and exfoliate, it isn't at all a harsh exfoliation as I have quite sensitive skin but I feel like my face is really clean afterwards!

Step 4:  I use Benefit's Triple Performing Face Emulsion with SPF15, £21.50. This is a great moisturiser for me and pretty much always keeps away the dry patches I have always suffered with! And it smells fresh too!

Step 5: Around 3 to 4 times a week I use the Let the Good Times Roll Face and body Cleanser from Lush, this has a slightly grainy texture, smells of caramel and makes my skin so soft! I love it so much I have made my boyfriend try it!

Step 6: I then try to use a face mask once a week, I always go for a Lush one as they are so natural and pure, this months selection is Oatifix

As you can see I stick to Lush or Benefit products, I just feel like Lush is really natural and has always worked for my skin all over my body, and although Benefit is perfumed which can sometimes be a downfall with any product when you have sensitive skin Benefit's products are just really hydrating!

As much as I hate every sip I take I am also trying to drink a lot more water which will do wanders to your skin!

Have you tried any of these? Anything else you can recommend to me?

Let the good times roll

I am a big lover of lush, and not like most people, I don't love the bubble bars and bath bombs, but the face masks and skincare. Let the good times roll has to currently be my favourite face product, granted I probably don't treat my skin as well as I should with skin care routines etc, but this is just Amaaazing!

Lush says 'This face and body cleanser is a gentle treat for the skin, leaving you
soft to the touch with a buttery popcorn fragrance'

I feel that this gives more of a caramel scent off than popcorn, but then you first buy a pot there is popcorn pieces in the top which I think is a cute little touch. Due to this product being more of a cleanser rather than a scrub it is very finely gritty like sugar almost, which makes the use of it very gentle and not at all harm your skin.

I think this cleanser REALLY works, I went in looking for a cleanser/ scrub because I have fairly dry skin and although I have a foundation that has moisturiser in it sometimes that isn't enough. I wanted a cleanser at this point as I suffer from really dry patches when around some flowers, lillies specifically, and just generally I do suffer from eczema. So I am not a particularly spotty person and I think this could be because I don't have oily skin, but this does help when I do have a couple coming through. This isn't something I use everyday, only two or three times a week and this works for my skin, and leaves your skin feeling sooo soft, I love it, I would recommend it to everyone!

Happy reading lovelies!
