MAC Prep+Prime Skin Base Visage

I really recently won this product when MAC stated they were doing a give-away with a batch of these it was basically first come first serve, so no kind of competition really, this is MAC's Prep+Prime Skin Base Visage* £21.

Personally I have never used a Primer before applying my foundation as I have always felt that it blends in and lasts particularly well. But both my mum and sister use Benefits Porefessional and really rave about it, so I felt like I should give a Primer a go when this give-away came up.

I love this product, it makes my skin into a silky smooth base ready for my make-up and it really does make my foundation blend better, I also feel like I don't need to use as much powder as I used to, because my foundation has blended better. And I have now purchased the full size as it's really worked well for me and I dance too and my make-up has lasted a lot longer after my lessons also, to the point I don't even need to touch up!

Happy reading my lovelies!!

Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner Review

This is absolutely wonderful! A delight to apply! I just ... I have no words.

Well I do...

Of course I do...

I always have an opinion haha!

I have used a few eyeliners over the years, and I thought I had found the perfect eyeliner to create the perfect cat eye when I picked up the Barry M Wink Marker Pen at the very reasonable price of £4.99..Until!! Benefit brought out their They're Real Push Up Liner, £18.50. I haven't used a gel liner before as I have been aware it's a lot more difficult to apply than Liquid liner or pencil. I have always preferred to use liquid liner to create a cat flick eye and pencil in my waterline, pencil works better on your lash line if you want it to be smudgy. But this brand new gel liner is brilliant, it's jet black which is hard to achieve with a liquid liner, and I would say it is easier to get a clean line purely because once liquid liners start drying out it is difficult to get a clean line. I can easily apply this liner over eyeshadow and it still glides on easily, whereas I have found eyeshadows can dry out a liquid liner. This liner is so smooth and just glides on easily, you don't have to go over the same place more than once, well sometimes I go over the point at my flick again just to ensure it is a sharp point!

It has a twist end which brings the eyeliner out of the end ... That sounds like it makes no sense but I had a mind block and can't think of another way of putting it ... You get my drift!

As you can see from my photos I applied the product to the back of my hand and then tried removing it with my normal make-up remover, Benefit's Remove it make-up remover £16.50, and I didn't get it off particularly well, and that was really scrubbing! And as I knew this was going to be the case from watching videos prior to the release, I purchased the all new They're Real Remover, and it's more of a cream based product which I applied to a cotton pad and rubbed gently over my hand and the product removed easily, I still end up with slightly balck areas around my eyes but I can just take that off with my usual remover.

When using the liner remember to only twist up the tiniest amount at a time! Also if you are going out to purchase it, remove the orange stopper and you have to twist the bottom a lot before you get the product out then rub off that first little bit that comes out as it can be a little dry!

I hope you love this little beauty as much as me!
Well done Benefit for creating something truly magical!!

MAC Haul

Hey Everyone! So this post leads on nicely from my previous about my trip to London as all these purchases were made in London at the newly opened MAC store in Covent Garden! It was really nice in there a small store but was split over two levels! As always in a MAC store the staff were so helpful especially as this was my first ever MAC purchases. These Products were split over two visits as after buying my first products I couldn't wait to get more.

So the first time I went in I was looking to start a brush collection, I never apply foundation or anything like that so I was focused on brushes for application of eye shadow. I ended up purchasing the 224 brush for blending and the 213 brush for application, I decided to go for just one application brush currently as I already own other brushes, although not MAC, that I use to apply eye shadow and was desperate for a blending brush! And so that leads to my next purchase, the MAC Brush Cleanser, which for just £10 is well worth buying to prolong the life of your brushes, and in fact to just keep them clean, I have never cleaned any of my brushes before because they were just cheap, but when I decided to clean them after purchasing this product I cleaned my Bourjois Paris Kabuki Brush and it was so dirty it was ridiculous! I didn't use the brush cleanser for this but baby shampoo to deep clean my brush and did this four times to my Kabuki and it still isn't completely clean! So that was all I bought on my first trip in!

On to my second trip... Kyle promised to buy me something from MAC for eating a whole chilli or something, I can't really remember! So we went back ... He ended up buying me more than just one product. Kyle spotted the nail varnishes and knowing my obsession with nail varnishes he led me straight over, I picked up this gorgeous colour called Soiree, it's a really pale bronze gold shimmer colour and I immediately fell in love with it and had to have it! although I love the colour I think it is a bit too expensive for what you get, priced at £11, yes you get a fair amount of the nail lacquer but it chips really easily, I never use an under or overcoat of clear varnish and my other nail varnishes, mainly Barry M still don't chip quite so easily, Soiree started chipping after 1/2 days... I am going to purchase a top coat and see if that makes a lot of difference. Next Kyle suggested eye shadows and getting a palette, personally I think it is really silly you have to buy the palette and the insert I understand this is so you can choose blush or eye shadow insert  but you would always buy a palette for blush and eye shadow anyway, you are never going to switch the inserts over in one palette in my opinion! Unless you buy all your products potted and not as just the pan. Anyway I then had to pick eye shadows, I settled on getting three shadows and they would be neutral colours. I chose Blanc Type first, a perfect highlight colour, then Sable as I like the medium brown with the shimmer it had, and then the matte dark brown Mystery. I do love all three of these colours and may post a Make-up look containing them soon so keep looking out for that!

Hope you enjoyed this post!
